The Process

Below is an outline and steps for Registering for a class at Mitch’s Certified Classes and submitting the Certification Exam Application to Cal Nevada AWWA. NOTE: Be sure to check your Spam/Junk folder for emails.

Register For A Class

  1.  View the Class Calendar Here to choose a class
    1. A full week class is required for new certifications.
  2. Register Online Here for a class
    1. After you complete and submit the online registration form,
      1. You will immediately receive a confirmation email with more information.
      2. We will email you an invoice for the class within two days. You may pay the invoice online or by check.
  3. Pay for the Class
    1. Once payment is received by Mitch’s Certified Classes (MCC), you will receive a
      1. Payment receipt from quickbooks@notification.intuit.com, and
      2. Class confirmation email with the location and additional information from customerservice@mitchscertifiedclasses.com
  4. Reserve Accommodations (If Needed)
    1. Visit our Recommended Accommodations web page for more information.

Submit the Exam Application

The certification exam fee is NOT included in the class fee. A separate non-refundable fee must be submitted to CA NV AWWA with the Exam Application.

IMPORTANT: Complete and submit the Certification Exam Application PDF form at least 20 days prior to the exam date (preferably sooner).

Backflow Prevention Assembly Tester (BPAT)

Prerequisite: None

Exam Format: Hands/Practical Test and a Computer-Based Test (CBT)

  1. Download and complete the BPAT Certification Exam Application (PDF) here.
  2. Submit the Exam Application to with payment information according tot he instructions on the application.
    1. After review and processing, you will receive Exam confirmation emails from:
      1. “ca-nv-awwa.org” for the hands-on/practical portion of the BPAT exam, and another email from
      2. “CandidateSupport” with instructions on how to schedule the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for a date/time/location you choose.
        CBT Questions/Answers (PDF)
        Note: The CBT will be taken after the practical/hands-on exam. Be sure to schedule the CBT for as soon after the class and practical/hands-on exam as possible, so the class information is fresh in mind.

Cross Connection Control Specialist (CCCS)

Prerequisite: Current Cal Nevada AWWA BPAT Certification

Exam Format: Computer-Based Test (CBT) only

  1.  Download and complete the CCCS Certification Exam Application (PDF) here.
  2. Submit the Exam Application to with payment information according tot he instructions on the application.
    1. After review and processing, you will receive an Exam confirmation email from:
      1. “CandidateSupport” with instructions on how to schedule the Computer-Based Test (CBT) for a date/time/location you choose.
